My name is Angela, and I’ve been in the ball-jointed doll hobby since mid-July 2016 when I bought my very first doll (Mystic Kids 60cm Lawrence).
Prior to collecting ball-jointed dolls, I collected (and still collect) fashion dolls, Bratz in particular, although I have many different types of fashion dolls in my collection. I did not play with dolls often when I was younger, but in 2010-2011 I regained an interest in dolls. At that time, I was around 14 or 15 years old, which I know (and many people in this hobby know) people think is too old for dolls and other such things that seem to be made for children. Back then, I used to hide my raging doll obsession; I was already the weird, shy kid at school and I didn’t want to make myself look worse. Slowly after getting my BJDs, I started to talk about them more online and with my friends. I started taking photos of them (and even some of my incoming fashion dolls) and posting them for all my acquaintances to see. One of my university projects even was centered around my doll collections.
Needless to say, I’m trying not to be so shy about it anymore!
